How to get a screw out HELP!!?

Question:I put a shelf in a room and I think the handy man screwed it into a stud. Now we need to take it down to paint the room but i can. I even tried an electric drill and all it did was shave off metal. How do i get the screw out?

Answers:
You use a screw driver =D

Purchase a screw extractor kit or use a dremel cutting tool to make a deeper notch in the head.
Go to your local hardware store and purchase a screw removal tool. It fits right in your power drill and will back the screw out. Figure to pay $8.00-$10.00 but you can use it again if needed. Good luck to you.
Get a hammer with the scissor end and try pulling it out, it might make a hole on the wall
Use a tiny drill bit and drill out the
center of the screw.
Then run a larger drill bit in reverse
and the screw should work it's way
out.
If you can get a grip on it a pair of pliers or vise grips will work.Just squeeze the head and twist it out.
If your screw is a phillips head, buy a #3 screw tip, (you typically use a #2 bit) to fit into your electric drill. You may need to buy a bit kit. $5-$6

A #3 bit is a little bit larger than the #2 phillips. Make sure your drill is in reverse, and push in hard on the screw as your are backing it out.

This will work provided you haven't shave off too much metal.
