Need to get interior of house painted in Canada, is this a fair price?
Question:Hi Everyone,
I want to get my new home professionally painted. It is 1100sq.ft. . Had a painter come over, and price the job. 3 bdrms, 2 small bathrooms, doors, ceilings, kitchen, living room, and hallways. He will do all wall repairs caulking etc, and figures he needs 4 days to do this all. He has quoted me $2000.00, I supply the caulking and the paint. Is this a fair amount?

Hi I am a project manager for buildings in excess of 50 and saw your ?
Where do you live this will determine the going rate for the project. As it stands it seems a fair price for a major city in Canada. What type of paint (sheen) how many coats what colour is he covering what is on the walls, floor to cover and protect, what type of doors and colour. all this has to be considered before he will paint. Also I would suggest that you pick the colours and let the painter chose the brand of paint or there may be conflict as to why the paint is not turning out they way you want it to. you get what you pay for in both material and workmanship so get three estimates from well known painters who can provide you with references and pictures of their work.
I personally think that is an unfair price. It's almost summer so put an ad in the paper or put flyers at the local/nearest college or university. Get a student to do it.
sounds ok...
