I cannot believe they mean no curtains. I think they mean no big hammer holes in the walls. You paid a security deposit so do it. I'd use blinds, they are lighter and they have great colors, and for that area not cheap. I mean what's there now?? What kind of walls do you have? Gotta be drywall the most painful stuff on the planet (look no cuss words) to hang anything on let alone curtains. That's why I suggest vertical blinds, not the little vinyl ones. Then when you buy them ask them for the proper installation. They have a thing called a butterfly, but that may be just a WV thing. It goes in behind the drywall and opens up like a butterfly and stays open!! Good Luck
Put the holes in the walls and just patch it before you leave.
it seems strange that you can't do something as simple as blinds for privacy.but try some rice paper folding screens. they'll still let light and be nice and private and bring in an element that you can't achieve with curtains.
they make magnetic rods. or use those rods that have rubber tips on them and fit by pressure, or put plants up rather than drapes. i have an area that big in my FR and it is a pain. I have just Venetian blinds and it looks bad.
You will need to measure the space for each window opening and go to some place like Target or Wal-mart and buy tension curtain rods. These use a spring to hold in place between the window frame.
At the home depot or other superstore they have the kind of curtain holders that are held in place by tension. I think they are called tension rods. No holes needed!!
