Should I go for retrofit or new construction for windows? My house is stucco. Any difference in energy efficie

Question:My house is about 50 years old. It's stucco. Is there any difference is energy efficiency between retrofit versus new construction? All the present windows are square.

Answers:
I can tell you my experience with replacement windows. For me they are much easier to clean because they are easier to release and pull down toward you to clean the outside of the window. On my new house I have to push out on the vinyl framework on the left and right and then pull the window down toward me. I need another person to pull it toward me because it takes another pair of hand while I am pushing on each side of the vinyl framework to release the window. I hate the new windows and prefer the replacement window on my old house. I hope this makes sense.
