Can bed frames hold air mattresses?
Question:If I buy a queen sized bed, will a queen sized air mattress fit on it?
Answers:
Generally they are the same size, but I would advise against it. Anything poking out of the bed frame can puncture the air mattress very easily.
if you put a peice of plywood on the bed rails so the thing does'nt fall through.
Only if you put some plywood on top of the bed frame to prevent the mattress from being punctured. I'd even go so far as to put a blanket or sleeping bag on top of the plywood to keep splinters from puncturing the mattress. But air mattress directly on bed frame? No way.
No.
Not only do you have to worry about punctures and tears, but unless the bedframe has a solid bottom (a "bunkie board") the air mattress can fold slightly and fall through.
Not a great way to wake up!
they can but sometimes they cant...each is differant
I don't think that is a good idea. I think that if the frame had any sharp spots you would end up with hole.
I have one of the inflatable double height mattresses that I got at either target or walmart and it has been nice for when I am traveling or when there is company over. You can easily get off the bed without having to crawl up off the floor because it is twice the height.
