How do i shrink my jeans?

Question:I bought a pair of jean the other day and i must have picked up the wrong ones because they are a size too big! i cant take them back because I tossed out the tags and reciept and I have already pressed them plus im wearing them today due to running late!!
My Question: how do I shrink them just one size? (they were very expensive)

Answers:
A hot water wash and hot dry will work for each wear...but after wearing them for a day they'll stretch out again...even if there is no lycra. If there's lycra you're out of luck.

I just went through the same thing. Stores want to keep your business. They will, 90% or more of the time allow you to exchange them with or without tags and a receipt. If you used a credit card, most stores can look up the receipt using that same card. I also wore mine for an entire day and they still took them back. Just DON'T wash them before you do this, or you own them.

If all else fails...Tailor. They can alter them beautifully, I'm sure.

Wash them wrong side out and use warm water(hot if white jeans),then dry them for a long time.that should shrink them,if they are not stretch jeans. Thanks for 2.
Contrary to popular perception, water alone does not shrink clothes. It's
the combination of mechanical action, high temperatures and water that
causes fibers to contract. Excessive drying can also shrink clothes. High-
tech washers and dryers with computerized controls limit the risk of
shrinkage in modern water-based cleaning.

To shrink some jeans, I would suggest washing in hot water especially when
they're new, then drying on high heat and leaving them in the dryer
afterwards. Cotton is easy to shrink. Synthetics are usually not
shrinkable.
Wash them in hot water and dry them for a couple of hours. Works for me!
Put on 30 stone.
Wash them in hot water and dry them on high heat.
put them through the washing macine once
if it doesnt shrink as much as u want it to then put them inthe wash again and keep doing that until they shrink the way u want them
make sure u dont wear them in between putting them in the wash
Wash in hot water then dry on hi heat.
well they will naturally shrink in the wash
but if they dont shrink enough take them to a tailor..

next time make sure you buy the right size.. keep the tags and the receipt for at least a week or 2 JUST IN CASE!
