What is a good way to organize my room?
Question:my room NEEDS to be organized because everything is where it shouldn't be...i want to be able to relax and actually see my floor
Answers:
You can get bins on wheels that will slide under your bed. That will help with storage. Also, see if you can add any shelves in your closet. You might want to get some kind of shoe storage unit and clear up some space on your closet floor. If you have space in your room, add a chest, desk or shelves or something like that. Baskets are also good for storage and organization.
go in there and my first step would be get rid of everything that you do not need. throw all trash away. look at clothes, determine what you want / what you do not need. give away anything you do not want or send it to the garbage. if you have not worn the item in one year it is fairly safe to assume that you want and you can toss it, give it to charity or a friend. maybe you would want to organize a clothes swap with your friends. pick up anything on the floor that does not belong there and return it to the room /place that it belongs in.
Next after everything is out of there you will have a visual on what is left / needs to be organized. You can then assess if you need some containers, baskets, under bed storage unit etc. maybe you can ask mom if you can store some things in closets / basement, attic, etc.
make it your new policy , to never throw anything on the floor again. it takes as long to throw it on the floor as it does to return the item to wherever it belongs. if you are going to throw a pair of jeans on the floor , you can just as easily toss them into a laundry basket in your closet. agree ? it just takes practice and you will find organziation gets addictive. if you get it under control , you will never have to waste 8 hours of your day organizing major projects when you could out be doing something fun. be a good organizer / manager of time for yourself! take care!
i was the youngest kid and always got stuck with the smallest room. i had a daybed with a trundle bed underneath. i took the mattress out and got bins to put in its place for my smaller toys. i made a closet organiaser out of milkcrates to stack in shoes and larger items. shelves could be helpful too if you have stuff you want to display. for hair accessories and little things i would suggest an over the door shoe holder the pockets are awesome for small things and it takes no space away from your room. get a hamper to hold your dirty clothes and stash it by your bedroom door so that every morning when you get up you can pick up th stuff on your floor as you head out of your room.
