How to get rid of set-in grease on pants?
Question:A huge spot of grease from hamburger got on my pants and I washed it but it didn't come out.. Any suggestions on how to get it out?? It's my favorite pairrrr! They are pants, not jeans. (Don't know if that matters)
Answers:
Rub some Dawn dish soap on it ,let it set a few hours or overnight would be better, then wash as usual. Next time use the Dawn right away.
The best way to get out grease on clothes is with baby powder, sprinkle a generous amount on and rub it in. Then was as usual It works best before you wash it. If you already dried them I'm not sure if it will work, you may have to try it two or three times.
if it was my favorite pair of pants i would take this to a dry cleaner right now / before it dries / is set. i would ask them to try professional products and see if they can get it out for you. it will be worth the 5.00 or whatever they charge to get it out. hope you save them !
Lestoil is sold at walmart and its great at getting out grease stains...as well as lots of other stains. follow the directions. also, DO NOT put the pants in the dryer until you are satisfied w/the stain removel. once the pants are exposed to the heat of the dryer, the stain will no longer come out. not matter what you do. so make sure its all out before you dry.
Spray & Wash works well. However it's going to take a few washes. What you need to do it spray the grease stain with the spray on thick and leave it for a day. Wash it then and don't dry it and spray it again and leave it to sit overnight again. Wash it the next day and dry it. It should be gone.
