Can leg wax be cleaned out of a carpet?
Question:i spilled some leg wax on my carpet and my landlord now moaning that the carpet is ruined. i can't afford to replace the carpet so want to know of a way to lift the wax out
Answers:
Let the wax go cold. Get a couple of thick teatowels and place over the cold wax. Place a hot iron (with the steam button off) on top of the teatowels for about 5/10 seconds. Lift teatowels and place a clean section again over the wax. Keep repeating and the wax will be absorbed by the teatowels. Trick is, not to be impatient and do not rub the carpet. Good luck
You can get wax remover at some candle shops-we got ours at the local bee supply store.
place brown paper on waxed area and iron on top of it. The heat of the iron will melt the wax and it will soak into the brown paper.
pack it with ice bags for half an hour then chip it away once your down to the fiddly bits get a cool iron and either some sheets of brown paper, blottin paper or white pc printing paper place them over the stain keep movin the iron over the paper until the wax is soaked up.change paper when full and keep up till all is removed a wee bit of hot soapy water will rid the tiny amounts left xxx
You should be able to get it out like candle wax.
Dampen a rag ( one you don't mind losing )
and use and iron.
Put the rag on the spot and iron it. It may take a couple of tries but it should work
I know this sounds really silly, but put an ice pack on it. The wax goes hard and then can be picked off. If this doesn't work, try putting Eucalyptus essential oil on before using the ice pack. Don't worry, the oil does not stain (as long as it is a pure one) and makes it easier to lift the wax out of the carpet.
yes cloth over wax iron on top of cloth heats it up gets absorbed into cloth not bad for a bloke
