How do you get the musty smell out of clothes left in the washer a bit too long?

I rewash them adding half a cup of baking soda. Baking soda takes the smell out of most any thing and won't harm your clothes.

You have to re-wash them, and use fabric softner for best results.

I run them through the rinse cycle again with baking soda. If they are really bad you can let them soak for awhile with the baking soda. You will also be surprised how much soap comes out of them.
to remove that lovely smell you really need to rewash your load, if you use some white ditilled vinegar it will add in freshening your wash load.
wash them again, it's the only way..use fabric softener...
