My 3 year old daughter gets car sick bad, any ideas?
Question:When I was young, and still to this day if I sit in the back seat or try and read something in the car I get sick but my 3 year old twins have it bad. Their Dad lives about 20 miles from here and usually before we're even half way there they're in the back throwing up. My Mom used to give my Dramamine until our family physician recommended Dimetapp but I was wondering if there was anything new out that helped with motion sickness b/c this was awhile ago. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated, thanks!
Answers:
Front seat, stop swerving and making the car go so fast thru the turns and tell then to look out the front window only, no side windows.
my mom used some patches she got at the pharmacy for sea sickness, they are found right by the dramamine stuff and you stick them behind your ear. she said they worked. good luck!
There is an over the counter medicine that is chewable tablets made for kids' dosage called Bromine. It helps with nausea and really doesn't taste bad like some meds. I think it is related to Dramamine but at kids' dose. It also tends to make you drowsy. I myself used it once when I wasn't feeling well, and I fell asleep and when I woke up, I was fine again.(Maybe the doctor thought that dimetapp would make the child drowsy and less likely to notice surroundings or car motion.) You might also try finding something that would block the view out the back windows in case it is the visual of the scenery passing by which causes the nausea.
LOTS OF FRESH AIR - works wonders.
