Question:
Answers:
you know the underpants gnomes from south park? well they're not just after underpants anymore!
I think the washing machine actually eats socks.
I think little garden Nomes come at steal them when you leave the laundry room.I swear I just took off a pair of socks, wash then put'em in the dryer, and only one sock is in the dryer when I come back in 30 min...Dubba U Tee Efff!!
unmated socks are actually the larvae for the plethora of coathangers in closets...socks disappear, hangers multiply...I can't understand why more people don't see the connection...
I love all these answers to one of life's great mysteries, but now for some s-e-r-i-o-u-s ways a sock might vanish without trace.
(1) You didn't put in the sock in the first place. It's in your room somewhere, hiding under all the other stuff.
(2) Your washing machine is getting old and the drum seal has developed a gap big enough for socks to get through. Your sock is festering in the tub that holds the water inside the machine.
(3) Your sock has taken up residence inside a duvet cover or pillowcase. It's that lump that's keeping you awake.
(4) Your sock survived the washing machine, but went AWOL during the drying phase. It's out there somewhere.
(5) Your dog likes socks.
I actually did have a sock go through the drain hose and into the laundry tub during the spin cycle a few times.
Aahhhhh... the ancient quest for the answer to this puzzle goes on.
