Removing mold smell from cloth?

Question:My elderly mother recently gave me a vintage quilt. It smells like mold, however there is no sign of mold on the quilt. I have washed it twice but it still smells. What can I do to get the smell out.

Answers:
I would wash it like you normaly would but add a half a cup of baking soda and the smell will be gone. The baking soda won't harm the quilt either.

Febreeze fabric spray. It's at any market, I get it @ Wal*Mart.
Next time you wash it, trying hanging it out in the sun to dry. I had a shirt that I forgot about in the washing machine before I went on vacation and when I got back, it was smelly and had mildew all over it. I couldn't bleach it, so my mom told me to hang it outside in the sun. I did and all the mildew went away and I washed it again and it didn't smell anymore.
Use Febreeze or spray perfume on it.
There is only one think for this smell, a nice windy day, Fresh air, will rid the smell. I had 2 blanket´s given to me. When I took them out of the box, I too thought they had mold , but I put them outside in the fresh air for 2 day´s , and no more smell
If the other suggestion do not work maybe taking it to a cleaners to see if they can get the smell out of the quilt or have any suggestions.
