My lovely ex husband dropped a cigar one time and left a burned mark on my plush carpet. I trimmed down the burnt area and then from a spot in the closet I trimmed some pile fibers and then using fabric glue, I stuck them into the burnt area that I had trimmed. Nobody could tell where it was!

If you have old scraps of the carpet when you had it put down...use that. If not, try to buy a piece of carpeting or remnent that closely matches it. Cut out the burned area (using a knife) and replace it with a piece of the new carpet. Tack it into place or you can try a fabric glue to keep it in place. Depending on the size of the burn...this should work.
Depending how bad the burn is- if it is a small burn and didnt reach the bottom of the carpet, you can just cut the areas that are damaged until the burnt fibers are not obvious. But if it is an obvious burn, might as well look for remnants from your installation. Usually carpet installers leave remnants to customers. IN that case you can call them to patch the damaged area. If you dont have the remnants, you can either cover the area with a pot of plant or nice table depending on the location of the burn.
Good Luck!
Cut out the piece with the burn and glue down a piece of carpet removed from a closet.
