My housekeeper is always tells me to leave while she cleans. Could she be stealing things?
Question:I dunno, she'll just be like "Oh, go on, leave, go have a good time. You're house will be clean as always..."
But she's been saying that for a long time. I mean yeah, the house is always spotless, but I'm starting to wonder if she is just saying that to get me out of the house so she can take things, or is she really just being nice?
Thanks

I think you would know if your stuff is missing or not...don't you?? I used to clean houses with my mom about 10 years ago..I always, ALWAYS preferred to clean when the clients weren't home. And for different reasons.
#1 You don't want to feel like you are invading someone's personal space.
#2 You don't want to worry about making too much noise
#3 Every one does things differently, we don't want someone telling us how to do our job
#4 It is just easier to clean when you can run around without saying "excuse me" or "I have to vacuum now"
#5 You, as the homeowner, do not want to hear every huff & puff or "eeww" we have when we are cleaning some one else's yuck out of a bathroom.
I hope this helped your curiosity. And by the way. I don't think I would ever clean houses again for a living. Not fun...Not fun at all!!
First of all if it's your house and you pay her why are you leaving when she tells you to?Secondly, have you noticed anything missing/out of place? If yo really think she's stealing the nly way to find out is to catch her in the act.Plant a camera and see what she does. She may just like privacy so you don't see how she gets everything so clean and decide you can do the job yourself/she may like re-enacting Risky Business scenes in your living room.
Is anything missing? She is just being nice. She probably works better without you there.
Why are you doubting your helper? Have you ever experienced you had lost something in your house. If there's none, please don't harbor any idea of doubting your helper. I think she's nice. But if you have that suspicion test her so that you can be sure.
Some people are nervous with someone looking over their shoulder. She just wants to do the job quick and efficient and you not watching her every move. If nothing has gone missing at this point--give the lady credit for her efforts and maybe give her a little gift for being good at what she does.
I used to clean house for an old guy from Sweden, he would lie down on the couch and watch tv and fall asleep. One day I said Hugo--I am finished, he said --oh fine I'm not asleep--I said well fine, then I'm telling all your friends that you watch Sesame Street.
