What would you pay to have house cleaned?
Question:One of the rates I got was $65 every two weeks to have a thorough cleaning done. I wasn't sure if this was one or two persons. Well, to 'save' a lil we decided to have my 18yo step daughter try it out once. Her and boyfriend were here for about 3.5 hrs and did great w/the kitchen, but slacked when it came to the two toilets and totally forgot to clean the powder room.
What should I deduct or how much would you pay. The MAIN thing we wanted done was the toilets as I have potty training kids.
Answers:
I pay $75 bi-weekly.
I would deduct the pay to about maybe to $50 or $45
When I was in Southern California, I was paying $80 every other week for a 2000 sq ft house -- this included vacuuming all carpets, mopping all floors, dusting all surfaces and cleaning all the glass. I felt like that was a reasonable price for the high quality job our housekeeper was doing. She spent about 4 hours each trip out.
I pay $90 every two weeks to have two ladies clean 4 bedroom 3 bath house as I don't have any teenage children availble to help with chores. $65 is a great rate...especially if they come with great references and have insurance.
65 EVERY 2 WEEKS IS RESONABLE I OWN A CLEANING COMPANY AND I CHARGE HOURLY IN THE RATE OF 25 AN HOUR W/ A 3 HR. MINIMUM REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG MY GIRLS ARE THERE... SO I GET 75 DOLLARS MINIMUM ON SOME HOUSES OTHERS MORE $..
You don't deduct anything. You had an agreement; pay the amount agreed upon. $65 a very fair price. I doesn't matter how many people clean it.
Next time write a list of things that you want done. Like a note left with the payment, "please clean powder room and special attention to the toilet. Thank you."
An experienced person can do it alone in 3.5 hours. Perhaps they are not experienced or don't know how to clean a bathroom properly.
I use Merry Maids to clean my house and I pay $50.00 for them to come twice a week. You should try it.
i have a one beddroom apartment so id pay 40-50 for a through cleaning.
since the toilets where you main focuse for them to clean i suggest you deduct a good amount if they knew that the main thing that needto be clean where the toilets
OK I work for a local Merry Maid service in my area. And when someone comes into your home to do a bid. Well they think of it as. How long will it take to clean your home. And keep in mind a first time in will always be more in price. This will get your home clean from top to bottom. Keep in mind how large is your home? How many bathrooms, bedrooms, do you want your beds made each time. Sheets too. Yes we do a lot for our customers. If you don't want the whole house done ask how much just for bathrooms and kitchen. Ask for discounts if you sign up for more service. We always give $15 off the first 3 visits if you do. On a first time in we spent about 2 hours in your home if not more. Just depends on how dirty your home is. And trust me you may not think its bad. But we see homes everyday that are clean at first sight. But really when we get started its worse then what you think. Not saying anything bad. Just we are cleaning floors on our hands and knees we see it all.
So I hope this helps some. Just ask a lot of questions. Make sure you get what you want out of a maid service. Have a list ready for what you want them to do. And one more thing. If you only get your home done once a month it will be more. Cause the build up will be there. Getting it on a bi-weekly is the best money saving bet. At least for us it is...
Good luck
My friend does this for a living and shes on $20.00 per hr..
i would pay like 10 bucks a hour 4 to 5 hrs a week, that is plenty of time to do a good job ... unless its totally pitted out,,,,
