How do I clean a coffee maker using vinegar?
Question:My mom has allergies so I can't use the "Mr. Coffee" cleaner stuff. Thanks.

Fill the coffee caraffe with 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water. Pour it where you would put the water and turn the coffee maker on. Do this at least twice (more if the coffee maker is really dirty), using fresh water and vinegar each time
After you've run the vinegar water through the coffee pot, Run plain water through it a few times to rinse off any vinegar residue.
as if you were making coffee run water and vinegar through thr coffee pot 2-3 times.
One quarter water, three quarters vinegar for the first pot. Just keep pouring cold clean water (maybe about 5-6 more pots) until the vinegar smell leaves. Good Luck!
I fill the coffee maker about half full with white vinegar. Then I turn on the coffee maker and let it run for about half the vinegar I unplug it and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then I plug it back in and let it run for the rest of the cycle. Then I run 2 pots of clear water through it. Done.
just put a tablespoon in 4 cups of fresh water once a month and let it cycle. remove the water that comes over after the cycle from the hotplate and take it into the garage (to avoid smelling up your house of vinegar). Swirl it periodically to dissolve mineral buildup in the pot and then discard the water. Rinse with fresh water. Don't use too much vinegar ... a little is all you need. Any excess is wasted.
Use white vinegar. Doesn't have to be name brand - just whatever your store has. Fill your dispenser all the way to the top with it. Turn it on. Then run it about 3 more times with just plain water. Works like a charm.
Pour white vinegar into the machine and let it drip through. Then, rinse with 3 runs of water. My Bunn coffee maker came with a wire snake that I run up the drip hole to loosen any build up after I run the vinegar through the pot. Then I rinse it with 3 runs of water. (Use fresh water each rinse.)
Buildup can sure ruin a good pot of coffee. I get rid of it by running 1 brewing cycle of cold water and 1/4 cup vinegar. Follow with a cycle of clean water. If you can still smell vinegar run another cycle using fresh water.
Pour a 1/2 cup of white vinegar in the back part of your coffee maker, where the water goes. Turn the machine on like you are making a pot of coffee. Then let it cool, and then brew a full pot of just water to clean out the vinegar taste. It is that simple.
i have a 4 cup coffee maker and i use about 1 half a cup in it,,, then i run clean water in it about 3 or 4 times to get rid of the vinegar smell out works for me any way.. hope it helps
