How do you get parrafin out of clothes? It looks like a grease spot and I think I have tried everything.?
Question:
Answers:
This is a shot in the dark, and assuming it is paraffin wax, my grandma always said freeze the garment, and if its not too sunken in, it will peal off.
Hopefully this helps!
Parafin or wax is nasty to remove. If it is organic, you could try soaking the stain in rubbing alcohol to dissolve it, but at the risk of ruining the fabric.
I'd replace the piece.
Try to iron and a piece of brown paper between then use some dish soap and wash in hot water if possible.
There are a couple things you can try. If it is an iron-able fabric and you are certain it is paraffin wax, you can place the spot between paper towels and iron it melting the wax into the paper toweling. If it is not wax, it may end up setting the stain so I'd recommend trying using a dry cleaning stain remover solvent. You can purchase a home dry cleaning kit in the laundry isle at most markets. Follow the directions by dabbing the stain with a small amount of the solvent with a clean rag. Good luck!
