HELP! I washed my favorite silk shirt and now it's all crunchy!!!?

Question:What can I do to restore my beautiful silk shirt to it's once-smooth and silky glory?

Answers:
Use a steam iron along with the other persons suggestion of putting a pillow case on top of it. Steam will get out the most stubborn wrinkles but be prepared to take some time on it. Silk is hard to deal with when it gets that wrinkly, so go slow use the steam a lot.

take it to the dry cleaners.
Take a pillow case and lay it on top of your shirt and iron it. Just make sure to only touch the pillow case when ironing. This should help. Good Luck.
1: Dry cleaning should help.

2: The iron through a sheet trick.

3: Rinse it in cold water, still has soap?
try ironing it. it may make it smooth and silky. :)

or, another option is rewashing it but by hand.....!
Just washing it by hand and hanging it to dry while it's still soaking wet works for my silk shirt (hadn't worn them since junior high, but I saw one for cheap and couldn't resist...)

Smooth it out on the hanger and don't wring it or anything while it drips dry. Then, you'll just need a quick touch-up iron, if anything.

Also, try sizing when you iron. Not starch--too much of a pain to use. But sizing is in a can next to the starch, so that's where you look for it in the store. Be sure you don't get them mixed up. Sizing doesn't really stiffen up your clothes, but it makes it a lot easier to iron and gives them a little bit of body, plus it makes it damp enough to sizzle out the wrinkles.
