Does anyone know how to remove scorch marks from linen type material?

Question:I am making a dress for my daughers wedding and when pressing the seams open, it scorched the material.

Answers:
If they are brown scorch marks you can not remove them. That is damaged fiber, burnt. Sorry! Perhaps you can cover them with a panel of lace...

Despite the fact that it appears the fiber is burned, you might be able to salvage it. Once, I burned a white cotton shirt after the heat was too high. There was a big, ugly brown mark where I "burned" the shirt. Well, I took some Oxy-Clean, made a paste with it and some water, rubbed the paste into the burn mark, let it sit for a good 2 hours, and SURPRISINGLY the burn mark actually came out!!

I teach Textiles for a living and even I don't know how to explain the fact that the burn mark came out. It's worth a try!
My mom used to rinse the fabric in vinegar/water mix, and then leave out in the sun light to dry. It really worked!
