Answers:
1Step One
Cut or sand away the burned ends of the carpet fibers. Cut fibers will simply blend in if they're only slightly shorter than the surrounding carpet.
2Step Two
Cut some carpet fibers from an inconspicuous portion of carpet elsewhere in the room or from a matching carpet remnant and attach them to the cut fibers using household glue, if the remaining fibers are noticeably shorter than the surrounding carpet.

Do you have more of the carpet? A book I have says to cut a square of carpet out, stains or bruns like that, and simply replace with the same sized square of new carpet. A decent quality carpet won't show the lines, it should fit right in.
To repair or hide burns in carpet is to cut small amount of fibers from an inconspicuous part of the carpet and glue those fibers into the burn area using household glue, but the best way to repair or hide those burns in carpet is to not smoke at all. (BAD HABIT)
