What is the best way to wash clothes at the laundromat?
Question:I can never seem to get my clothes very clean at the local laundromat. They have various sized machines, all front loaders. They have three compartments, two for laundry detergent and one for softener. The instructions say to put detergent in both compartment one and two. I guess one is for the soak and two is for the wash. How much detergent do I put in each compartment? Also, how full should the washer be to get the best clean?
Answers:
Follow the directions on the detergent, and pour equal amounts in each cup. Do not overload the machine.load only about half full.
If the machine has a fabric softener dispenser, pour 1 cup vinegar in it. The vinegar will draw the excess soap out of the clothes, and is also a fabric softener.
And no.your clothes will not smell like vinegar!
First of all you want to sort your clothes accordingly.
Follow the directions on the washing machine and dryer. Never fill the machine to capacity. I'd say about 3/4 of the machines should be full especially in the washing machine (this maximizes the cleanliness).
If you overload the dryer you'll end up spending more money to dry your clothes.
Oh yeah, and fold your clothes right after they come out of the dryer. Less wrinkles when you get home...
Good Luck!
