Loo brushes? LOL...?
Question:Bit random I know. I just went to the loo in work and spotted a loo brush in the corner. It wasn't looking particularly hygienic and I just wondered why they are still being used? How can it be sanitary to brush any remains from the inside of a loo, then place it in a bowl on the floor? Surely that will just move the germs to another area?
I use the toilet duck brush at home, with the flushable pads, they seem to be the best thing. But they're not that commonly used. I know in the great scheme of things this is unimportant, but it helps pass the time in work!
By the by, I am incredibly obsessive compulsive and when unhygienic things happen, it bothers me and I wonder why, in this nanny-state society we live in, it is allowed to continue.

I wonder why they haven't invented a toilet tissue that cleans the bowl as you flush- say one side is rough and embedded with scrubbing bubbles.
Solution for you- if there are no cameras- throw the sucker away.Maybe they are waiting for it to wear out- speed up the process for them
I think it is because they are more expensive than the 99p toilet brush and also because it is easier for a cleaner who may have a hunder toilets a week to clean to give it a scrub around with one of those, also it is likely something like a toilet duck brush would be nicked sad as it is lol
If you're at work, you're obviously not working hard enough - worrying about bog brushes! lol. Curious now, what is your line of work? Not a call centre by any chance.. No wonder I always get through to the automated robots!..
I think loo brushes are vile, they are so unhygienic. Like you the one at my work is filthy! Makes me feel sick everytime I see it.
I am also a toilet duck fan I don't want to look at a scabby toilet brush holder anyway.
lol you are not alone! i wonder the same thing... they must be riddled with germs and i bet people dont think to clean them, but how would you clean it and what would be the point as you use it often?! I use bleach and cleaners with a brush :)
also ... i had an ex-boyfriend who used to use it to unblock the toilet when he blocked it!! it was so fowl and would be covered in toilet paper and . stuff!! uuurrrgh!! hence being an ex...
I was always under the impression that if something didnt kill you then it just made you stronger. I am of course not advocating things that are un hygenic, but I do think this whole nanny state thing is a waste of time.
We arent allowed to do anything these days because its bad for us. Yet when we were kids we used to do terrible things and nothing killed us.
(am I making sense, or have I confused myself)?
Whats a 'toilet brush'?? (i am a man) LOL
Good one Rich T.a bit of garden dirt or a worm or tree climbing or having fun never did me any harm all those years ago.
Anyway, Loo Brushes.! Im afraid to say I am still a sado that uses one...but, I scrub the loo, flush with brush inside to get any 'bits' of it, and then pour in loads of bleach and leave the brush to soak over night! or at least a good couple of hours. The pot it stands in is also washed and wiped in and out with bleach at the same time.
I might just go out and buy some of the flush pad thingies this week end and give them ago tho.
Its all done to cost babe bosses only pay out on what they have to.There should be law's that protect you in the work place on the things that can not be seen.
The pads on the toilet duck have to be replaced after every use. If anyone wants to remove a small skidmark from the bowl, then there goes another pad - not economical or environmentally friendly !
Best to use the loo brush for that purpose and leave it in a bowl of bleach.
Your office needs to get a better cleaning service! (or better night cleaner!) I helped clean at the YMCA I worked at (My main job was front desk, membership services). We had a sponge on a stick, so to speak that the night cleaners used and put away, they were hung to dry after a good rinse over the mop sink. During the day, we used the strong chemical cleaner and didn't brush. Just let it set 5 minutes and then flushed it down the drain.
I use a traditional loo brush simply because the duck ones are expensive, and you are creating more things to flush away - however, a traditional loo brush is cheap and can be easily replaced every couple of months. I have been a housewife for 25 years- my home and my loo and its brush are kept clean- its no big deal really. Its not like you are going to be washing the dishes with it or cleaning your teeth with it is it? Toilet duck do a good job of convincing people like you you must buy their products- its a good money spinner.
So your question is?? Kids NEED germs to be able to build up immunity. loosen up and don't obsess.
I agree i hate toilet brushes think they are foul quite litterally who wants it hanging round in a supposedly 'clean bathroom'!
I'm sorry--loo brushes down toilet!! Not very good for the environment? Just keep the brush and its holder very clean!
i work in a big office, over 1000 people, and believe me, sometimes i go to the toilets here and cant believe that women use them the state they are left in.
More like animals, seriously. Its rank, there is no need, and im glad we dont have loo brushes here cos i shudder to think what they would look like if the hygiene standards of some of these women were anything to go by.
I mean, would you leave your own toilet look like that?!
Id hate to think of what their houses look like eurgh :(
