How do I clean an applesauce stain off of polished marble tile floor?
Question:I dropped a jar of applesauce on my polished white marble tile floor. I cleaned it with water, Dawn dishwashing liquid, spray-on marble cleaner/polisher, and another liquid tile cleaner. It mostly looks clean, but when the light reflects from certain angles, it still looks like there is a dull residue. How do I fix it?
Answers:
you'll have to have it re-polished... physically re polished. The acid in the sauce etched the surface of your stone.. there is no quick and easy way to do this. any number of foods and beverages will do the same thing... wine, lemonade, berries, pickles, anything containing vinegar.
Marble's alkaline and acids react with it on contact...
Hope your stone salesperson warned you of this danger before you selected it for your floors.. apparently not.
There are companies that will come to your house and re polish your stone.. contact your supplier of the stone tiles or a reputable stone dealer.
Sorry...
