Can anyone tell me the best way to remove ink from a cotton shirt?

Question:Left an inkpen in the pocket of my uniform, got ink on 2 of my shirts. Can anyone tell me how to get it out.I tried hairspray ,because someone told me that would work but it did not. I need help

Rubbing alcohol (the best is 99% proof sold at drug stores) will get permanent marker out of material, try it on ink!

Has the stain set in? Try using hydrogen peroxide. I work in a hospital and I know it gets blood out; but it works best on fresh stains. Give it a try though. Good luck.
