Can your neighbor downstairs cause you apartment to smell?

Question:We clean alot but sometimes the same smell comes back.We do not smoke and no pets.Dont really know what the smell is.It just doesnt smell right. Also Is there any good ways of killing the smell not just covering it up?

Answers:
Yes it is possible. We had neighbors that cooked exotic foods and the smell was always in our apartment. I hope it tasted better than it smelled!

what sort of smell is it? dirty smell? dead body smell? check it out
Yes, that is possible as well as getting little bugs (roaches)also. And that is the exact reason why I only lived in an apartment a week when I was in college. Thank God I was financially able to buy a house.
Yes, like heat, smells rise, so you will get the benfit from your downstairs neighbors. I would go buy some "good" air freshers and place them in each rooms that the smells affort. If you arer getting smells for your neighbors, that aren't cooking smells, you can imagine what that apartment must look like, just be glad you do't have to live there.
i've never had this but it's possible i guess. what i would do if i were you is buy odor absorbent gels. they come in a small tub, you can get them at those big pharmacies, they weigh like 1 pound and they work great. when the gel starts to get old and crusty take a plastic knife and mush it up to refresh it and make it wark again
