The Rat
If it is cat urine smell, I'm sorry to say but nothing will work. Your cat will more than likely continue to pee on that same spot. The urine soaks down into the padding and even into the floor. All I can recommend is cleaning your carpets regularly, i.e. every four months or so. Febreeze plugs in really help at home with pet odors.
Put the carpet out at the curb.
Sprinkle baking soda on the area and let it sit over night & vacuum. Keep reapplying until the area is gone. This does work...It's cheap...and easy.
