Dust is taking over my Bedroom?
Question:My fiance & I built a house about a year ago. Ever since we moved in a have noticed that our bedroom collects a lot of dust. I have to dust it every week and it is not just running a swifer over some furniture, it includes wet dusting all the furniture, ceiling fan, walls, air vents, blinds, and washing all curtains, cushions, bedding. At first I thought it was the ceiling fan just stirring it up all the time but the living room has a fan and it is not nearly as bad. I also notice none of the other rooms have dust sticking to the walls but it does in the bedroom. Yes, we have pets but they do not go into the bedroom. People suggested it was the A/C but the unit is brand new. I have terrible allergies and I cannot figure this problem out. Any suggestions?

How sad no one has attempted to answer your question. There are smarter people than me out there, but here is my input: Do you have alot of windows in the bedroom? Or, if you don't, for the windows you do have in the bedroom, do you have a heavy curtain that keeps out the sun's rays? It's possible your bedroom is on the side where the afternoon sun is the most intense. There are some kinds of ions or thermal heat that stir up dust. Look next time you have a beam of sunlight shining into the house and onto the floor. You can see all sorts of particles (dust) in that sun beam. This is my guess. Also, if you have carpeting in your bedroom, the combination of the ceiling fan, the sunlight, and ac vent distributing the particles stirs everything up. I would suggest buying some thermal backed drapes. They are heavy and keep out sunlight. When you are home, you can pull them open. When you leave for the day, close them. It will keep the room cooler and therefore cut down on your cooling costs. Also, if you are washing and changing the drapes and sheets and bedspread, it's possible when you are snapping the sheets and throwing the bedspread up in the air to throw it on the bed, that particles are flying all over the place. Maybe your bedspread is the culprit and sheds alot of fibers. When changing the bed or making the bed, try not to shake the covers in the air.
Maybe these websites will help.
esay if you have smethig like air condishoing or heating maybe when they built your house dust went in the metal pipes so when you turn it on and wind comes out of it it bows dst in your bedrooom check in the vents or what you have for heat or aircondishon check in ther if there is any dust. if here is clean it out in a coule of years it will all come out. your beroom must be over or cloes to that system because it is a straight passege to there. so call someone to clean the pipes out bbecause dust and wind travels straight and the esayist.
