How do you clean an old photo that has had soda spilled on it?
Question:
Answers:
soak in a warm water bath and let it dry on a flat surface.. It works.. We had many photos we had to do this with when we were in a flood last year. I didn't believe it but it does work!
you could always scan it and reprint it... the old photo may be unsalvagable, but as long as the inner portion with the print has not been distorted, a copy can always be made.
You won't be able to clean it because of the acid in soda. Scan the photo and make the fix with Photoshop or other similar program.
cool plain tap water. let it stay immersed for 5 minutes or so. maybe less. and take a soft clean cloth and gently wipe off the dried soda pop.
Dear Natalie,
Please take it to a professional. If it's not frameable, consider putting it in one of those acid-free scrapbooks for keeping it safe. Hope this works for you.
