It also depends on if it is oil base or acrylic paint. If it is oil base and it hasn't dried use mineral spirits or if it is acrylic and it hasn't dried use water. If it has dried you are s. o. l.
It really depends on the type of paint that was spilled.
If not washable paint, try turpentine. You might try Simple Green also.found in most automotive sections of the store.
