Why is my Dishwasher making my dishes smell like a Wet Dog?
Question:I use those cascade packets and after my dishwasher is done the bottom of my dishes smell like a wet dog! How do i get rid of that awful smell??

There are a few things to use to get the odor out...add tang, two tabs of Alka-Seltzer, one cup of baking soda, half cup of bleach "or" buy Dishwasher Magic (http://www.summitbrands.com/brands/dishw... and run your dishwasher without dishes in it.
sounds like you could do with washing it out...eventually all the rubbish builds up and you need to get rid of it. same things happen with glass washer at pubs. horrible job but needs doing every now and again
you need to have a strapping young guy come to your house (such as myself) and pour clorox down the dishwashers drain. Then take a shower with the guy afterwards.
its probably blocked the out pipe! run it through the hottest wash possible with a bit of white vinegar and bleach. make sure its empty though and the hottest cycle you have.. you should do this at least once a month..

Like everyone has said, it needs to be cleaned out, there should be a filter, i tend to just unscrew it from the bottom of the dishwasher and wash it like i would the dishes... another good idea is to pop some bleach down the drain... dislodges any grime... there are also "Draino" granules you can pop down the drain... they disolve eventually but they are granules so they are meant to dislodge any large lumps of stuff that might be stinking it out.
I love bleach, solves all kitchen problems, occasionally ill pop some peppermint oil at the bottom of the dishwasher, just to help with the smells. hope that helps.
The simplest way to clean your dishwasher is to go to the grocery and get a container of Tang by Kraft foods. This will not hurt anything since it is a food product.
Put the whole package in the dishwasher, without dishes, and run a cycle. The whole machine will be improved including the door seals.
