What washing machine brands available in Australia are more reliable and durable?
Question:I'm considering bosch, simpson, fisher & paykel, electrolux and whirpool? meile, asko and maytag are always better but most of these brands are too expensive. I’m not looking for unnecessary features, just the basics but a durable and reliable washer. If you could share your experience with the brands I mention (or any other) I’ll be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've had experience with a Fisher and Paykel; my mum bought it in 1994 and is still using it now, about 3 times a week. On the other hand when I moved out 4 years ago I bought an LG one and it seems to be always beeping at me now...(error message, one of those fancy schmancy computer ones). My mother in law has had the same Simpson washing machine (the kind that the knob gets pulled out) since my husband was born (he's 26). My mother in law says it's time to get a new one and she has said that she wants my LG when hers dies, but I suspect mine might die first!
We've always bought Hoover washing machines. Had really good runs out of both of them. First one lasted about 20 years, replaced gearbox after first 15 years and had it another 5 after that. Current one is about 12 years old and hasn't missed a beat. We've got no complaints, they've been excellent machines.
