Why does dusting work?
Question:I always wondered why dry dusting works.
If you use a dry cloth, then doesn't the dust just get thrown in the air around you?
Answers:
dust clings to itself in a way, so as you push them all together they stick to each other allowing you to push them around and pick them up in the masses, however, dry dusting does throw alot of the dust back into the air, it looks like it works, but its really not effective for capturing all the dust. try the balcklight method with some blacklight reactive powder and you will see how the dust just pushes around with a dry dusting.
Depends on what type of cloth you use. Microfibers cloths the dust clings to it.
Dry looks like it works because you can't see where it moved too. The dust that doesn't stick to your cloth either just goes into the air around you, and it settles onto the floor/carpet. That's why you're suppose to dust first and then vacuum. With a wet dust, the dust has something to stick too.
If you use materails as microfibers as a dusting cloth, it will trap the dust.
