How do you clean pizzas stones easly and fast?
Question:It is the white pizza stone from pampered cheif and i clean it with soapy water but it still has a dirty greasy look to it .
Answers:
Don't worry about the dirty greasy look!
Simply rinse the pizza stone off under warm water and allow it to dry in the air. You should never wash your stone with soap because the soap flavor will taint the stone. The oils from your food will gradually seep into the stone creating a non-stick surface. After using the stone for several years it will develop a shiny, darkened patina.
Use a stainless steel type of steel wool, like Amway's (or Alticor's) Scrub Buds. You might find this also in some grocery stores along with kitchen scrub pads and the like.
I understand that the dirty, greasy look is good for it. It keeps you from having to use cooking spray or shortening; and that's true, nothing much sticks to it and it usally comes off pretty quick. I was skeptical, but as long as you know it's clean, it's ok. I use hot water and the little plastic thing that came with it. I don't think you're supposed to use soap. Then again, I've had mine for many years and that could have changed.
steam cleaner whit a solvent
Your should never use soap at all on stoneware. Scrape it with the plastic scraper it came with. All you need is hot water. The more you use the stone the Browner it will look. Actually the browner and uglier the stone looks, the better it is. I become naturally seasoned. You can use baking soda on it to clean it though but you don't have to.
