Natural remedy to prevent static clothing?
Question:is there a natural, or environmentally friendly way to reduce the static in skirt lining or other cothers? I don't like using fabric softener due to all the chemicals in it. does vinegar reduce static from lining? thanks
Answers:
If your skirt is sticking to your skin, make sure your skin is not dry by applying lotion daily. You can also use a fabric softener sheet and just rub it on the inside of your clothing.
Vinegar is a great replacement for fabric softener - it's friendly for the environment, reduces static on EVERYthing, keeps your lint trap safer than softener sheets do, and helps reduce odors too. It only has that vinegar smell while it's wet. I use it on all my clothes, and it's actually recommended as a safe softener for baby clothes!
Like MILF, i say you should rub a dryer sheet on the inside of the clothing AND on yourself. I have to do this all the time with my slacks.
Yes vinegar is a great sub for fabric softener and it reduces static cling. Or you can add 1/4 cup baking soda to the wash, it also reduces static.
Rub lotion on the skirt lining. I believe vinegar will work as work.
Sorry can't help here. I solve the prolem by using desposal chothes.
I use Downy dryer sheets and that helps with the static. There is also a spray you can buy that gets rid of static.
Hand lotion (without scent) and/or body lotion.
Drying your clothes by means of hanging will keep them from developing a static charge and is the most environmentally friendly way by far. If that is not possible then try only drying like fabrics together (cotton w/ cotton, polyester w/ polyester, etc...) that too will keep static from developing since the fibers are similarly charged to begin with.
