Okay to use fabric softener on silk?

Question:I use white vinegar as a fabric softener. I was just wondering if it's ok to use when washing silk?

Answers:
If you use white vinegar to wash all your clothes, you shouldn't need fabric softener at all. The vinegar is almost a total replacement for softener. I would also recommend hand washing silk, anyway, and in something like Woolite. It will keep its shape and longevity better if you take very good care of it.
