HOW DO I remove transferred dye from COLORED clothes?
Question:My husband tossed a new bright red t-shirt in the washer with my light colored clothes, I didnt notice this till after they had been dried. OH GOSH what a mess. Any help on how to remove the RED from all my other clothes?
Answers:
The heat of the dryer set the color.
Sorry.
Try dying them better colors. Example, strange pink color can be dyed black, blue, orange, etc. It might save some of the items.
I have done this way too many times! I have never found anything to fix the problem. Someone reccomended buying Rit dye remover, but I haven't tried it. It might ruin your other colored clothes. But then again they are already ruined, right?
Sorry!
Sorry but that is not possible without removing the color of your clothes during the proses. Those are permanent dyes, even if you remove much of the red, still the clothing will look stained and very crappy .
Ask your husband to buy you new clothing.
There isn't anything you can do...but if you want ot prevent
this from happening again, buy Shout Color Catchers.
I highly recommend them, they have saved me a lot
of grief from accidents like you described. The rpoduct
doesn't cost too much, I think I got a box of 24 sheets at
Target for around $4, just throw one in each load of
colored clothing, they attract the loose dyes and keep them
off your clothing. If the load goes thur without any problem,
and the sheet is still white, I use it again, that way they last
a little longer.
