if the drum is struggling or pushing and not moving, sounds like you have a belt issue. Most are easy to replace, but some are complex. Call the local service center, advise over the phone is free. Have the model and make ready for them.
take out the lint, make sure the vent isn't plugged somewhere and lubricate the working parts w/ grease or wd-40
The motor is trying to turn the drum, so the object that is making contact to the drum must be slipping. Could be simply to fix, but with by luck it`s not.
Luke you need to check the drum slides, bearings, and rollers.
open up the dryer and clean it out and check for these things:
worn our drum glides
wheels/roller locked up
bearing worn out/broken
Idler pulley worn out/locked up
just pop the top of dryer and inside front panel remove screws and get front panel off
take belt loose from idler and remove tub
inspect those item above and get rid of lint
send chiefslacka any coinage found LOL
NOTE: WD40 highly flammable no good in dryer where heat can cause big fire! WD 40 can also cause fires in motor.use heat resistant zoom oil (safe for dryer)
This sounds like a problem with the belt. It's something that most people can change for themselves with access to a few basic tools. The site below has good trouble-shooting tips, but changing a belt is pretty straight-forward - more or less like changing one on a car. It can also help you locate the right belt for your dryer, so you don't have to pay someone an arm and a leg to come out to your home.
Good luck!
OPEN THE BACK UP
THERE ARE 2 WHEELS WITH A BELT JOINED FROM ONE TO THE OTHER.
REPLACE IT!
THEY ARE CHEAP.
