How do I get rid of yellow stains inside my white dishwasher?

Question:

Try using a product called"The Works". It is available at Big Lots, and costs $1 a bottle. It sounds as though these are rust stains. Good luck!

Use vinegar!

Begin by starting the empty dishwasher on a regular cycle -- do not use dishwasher detergent. Let the cycle run for a couple of minutes, until the bottom of the dishwasher has begun filling with water (just open the door carefully and take a peek), then add 2 to 3 cups of white vinegar to the water, close the door and let the dishwasher complete the full cycle. Note: You can repeat this process if necessary.
the plastic turned yellow. You cant go back
Run it with lime-away and then run it again with vinegar.Ofcourse, don't put any dishes in there. It sounds like you have hard water due to mineral sediment and you need to use a rinse agent every time you use the dishwasher.
I use a mixture of 2 cups of water, and 2 tablespoons of each of these, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and ammonia (not the sudsy kind)...run your dishwasher without the dishes...Hope this works...

Here's a great site for other remedies...Pretty cool!
Put a bowl (no silver) in the bottom or your dishwasher and pour 1 cup of household bleach. Run through the wash cycle, but do not dry. Fill the bowl again with 1 cup white vinegar and let the dishwasher go through the entire cycle.

For dishwasher odor, sprinkle Borax in the bottom of the dishwasher and leave it overnight. Using a damp sponge, use the Borax to wipe down the inside of the dishwasher, door and gaskets. No need to rinse, just do the next load of dishes.
Nancy P's suggestion was great. You can't go wrong with that. Is what I do.
I had the same problem and my sister in law gave me a container which held packets of CRYSTAL LIGHT. Put one or two dry packets in your dishwasher (without dishes) and run a short cycle. You will be amazed at how the Crystal Light cleans the inside of your dishwasher. After seeing what it did to my dishwasher, I will never drink it :)
many good suggestions here. first bleach cycle. I was a Maytag repairman in a hard water area. Maytag showed me how to use citric acid ( yes, organic vit. C) It involved having the dishwasher timer motor lead dis-connected( professional work) and putting in a cup of citric acid. let the cycle run for 4-6 hrs. Finish by running a bleach cycle. It always did the trick. Its complicated, but if you really want hard water stains out it will change the appearance. good luck, partner.( yes, Maytag DID break down; a little)lol
I use to run a little bleach through mine. I did it just like I would a regular cycle, just the bleach, no soap
