Laundry Help!! I washed a towel with a sweatshirt!?
Question:I washed a white towel with a blue sweatshirt and now my sweatshirt is covered with ugly white flecks. It's like the towel particles fused together with my sweatshirt! lol. I've been picking the white balls off for hours and it still looks the same. Any tips?

Oh, I've done that. What a mess, huh?
Best bet is probably using a lint brush--the friction kind, not the sticky-adhesive kind--or even a soft hairbrush to loosen or brush off as much of the linty mess as you can. Do this where the lint landing won't matter, or can be easily swept up or vacuumed up.
Rewash the sweatshirt, adding liquid fabric softener at the appropriate time. When you dry it, use a dryer sheet.
Remove it from the dryer when it's just barely dry--no extra heat. Brush it again--and clean out the dryer's lint trap.
With luck, that'll remove most of it.
How's the towel? Just sitting there acting all innocent, I bet. Lousy white towels and their lint...
wear the sweatshirt inside out. no kidding- i have sweatshirts 20-30 years old with this syndrome.
I don't know if it's all over the sweatshirt or just patches. This sounds insane, but get a disposable razor and try shaving it off. In the store they sell these little razor type things for that purpose, but why waste the money when you can use a cheap old Bic razor??
Soak it with water and then put it in the dryer by itself or buy a lint roller.
turn ur sweatshirt inside out and dry it in the dryer with a dryer sheet that should solve ur problem and if that doesnt work rewash it again with like colors (make sure there are no towels in there lol:) and then dry with a dryer sheet
Go to the store and buy yourself a "pill remover". They are also called a fabric shaver. They don't really cost that much and are handy to have around. A few careful go overs with that and your shirt should look good as new! Just be careful that you don't catch a bumpy seam or something or you can end up with a hole .
Try lint rolling it. You can also wash the sweatshirt separate, to see if that helps.
You can buy a "de-fuzzer" at Target or WalMart or even a grocery store that should remove the white fuzzies. I like the other suggestion about wearing the sweatshirt inside out - it's a great alternative to just throwing it out.
I always rewash the sweatshirt by itself a couple of times and it removes most of the fuzz.
