How do i clean platic shower curtains?

Question:Is it safe to put them in the washer?

Answers:
First, i spray it with a soap scum remover and wipe it off. Then I throw it in the washer. Use hot water, it makes the plastic more flexible so it gets all the soap scum out of the folds.

Yes, with a clean towel to help scrub them. Preferably a white towel. Use bleach too.
I wouldn't...I would get a bleach based spray cleaner. If it is moldy or an orangish color, bleach will clean it. Did you know the orange color is wasted (poop) from organisms. Cool huh!
Yes
I often wash mine. The temp' should be no more than 40 and it is likely to be very wet at the end, but nice and clean.
That's what I do with mine, with hot water, bleach, and the gentle cycle. And nothing else.
Hi, It's safe and probably the best way to really clean them. Add about 1/3 cup of vinegar to the wash cycle. It will get all the soap scum off.
I always throw mine in the washing machine. Put it in alone on warm with a cup of bleach.
Or if it is one of those $3 ones just go buy a new one :)

EDIT: The bleach shouldn't hurt the colored decals since it is only maybe 1 cup bleach to many gallons water.
Washed in a washing machine on a warm wash with vinegar works well. However, when you take it out, it is going to be dripping wet because the water won't get spun out. I have put mine into a dryer for a short period of time, and I mean "short" to get some of the water off and while still warm, hang it back in the shower. That way the wrinkles will work out while it is still warm and hanging upright. However, if you leave it in too long you take the chance of melting it in your dryer. If all else fails, a new plastic shower curtains costs very little to replace. You might want to look into a fabric shower curtain that is easy to wash and use a very inexpensive plastic liner that can be taken down and replaced on a regular basis. Usually no more than $5. to replace.
I wash our shower curtains all the time. I just use laundry soap, softener, and be sure to throw two or three bath towels in with it. Wash on the hottest water setting. Do not dry, just hang back up straight from the washer. Will look like brand new again!
How to clean a shower curtain to shine like new

Why throw away your shower curtain simply because it is grungy. Here is a simple and easy guide for how t clean a shower surtain.

Shower curtains get dirty. You would think they would be the cleanest things in your house, what with all that water and soap, but they're not. Whether your shower curtain is vinyl, cloth or plastic, body oils combined with soap scum can really make those curtains look so disgusting, you won't even want to get into the shower with them! . If your curtain is vinyl or plastic, you can keep renewing it until it rips.

All you need to do is take down your curtain, whether it be vinyl or cloth, remove the rings and toss it into the washing machine with a cup of baking soda. Wash in a complete cycle with warm water or follow the instructions for wash on your cloth curtain.

It is probably not a good idea to put your vinyl curtain into the dryer unless you put it on very low and keep an eye on it. If your vinyl curtain is wrinkled, just hang it back in the shower and let the steam do the rest! Cloth curtains can be tumbled dry on low or can be hung up wet, it's going to get wet anyway!

Congratulations! You just saved yourself some money, kept a chunk of vinyl out of a landfill and helped your environment, all at the same time! Next time you buy a shower curtain, get a cloth one, they are easier to wash, come in all colors, look great and last a lot longer than vinyl!
*If you cannot use bleach, put the shower curtain in the washing machine with the usual amount of detergent.

*Throw in several hand towels to use as "scrubbers" to get the shower curtain clean.

*You can even put the shower curtain in the dryer with the wet towels and some dry towels to balance out the drying process.

*I'm all about finding the easiest way to clean things and this is it for shower curtains.
I put mine in the washer with a couple of bath towels. Add some vinegar to the wash cycle with your detergent. I also put mine in the dryer on low heat for about 2 minutes, just long enough for the dryer to heat up a little and throw off the excess water and remove the wrinkles. Then hang it back up immediately.

Be very, very careful with putting the curtain in the dryer. I never walk off and leave it. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it could also only take another couple of minutes to start a fire or melt the curtain (I don't want to find out how long it takes).
