I would say talk to them in a calming voice, they love hearing the caring tone of thier owner's voice . It just seems to calms them.
yep, you can talk to the pup in a soothing calm tone and also use baby wipes-the non alcohol, non fragrance ones help!
The doggy wipes work great. But even if the pup does get scared and starts squirming, don't let it stress YOU out too much..Just give him a little treat or something and he'll forget it ever happened.
Most books suggest just using a wet washcloth and water with no soap. they keep their faces pretty clean anyways. I use a whitening soap on my pups body and none on his face but he keeps his face white anyways just by licking. U don't want to get ssoap in his eyes he won't get in the bath freely again. My dog still jumps in the tub whenever U say lets take a bath, when he was real little I would get into the shower holding him and shower with him.
