Carpet cleaning question? need help fast... please?
Question:I have a mom and pop rug cleaning service on their way over. What do I need to know? Berber rugs... they said it would take 8 hours to dry. They guaranteed that the pet stains would come out, no guarantee on the smell. Any ideas?

I use straight bleach on my berber. Made by Philadelphia carpet. Doesn't hurt it and gets everything right out. Bleach on a toothbrush for small areas and I spray it on with a mix of 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water in a bottle. Rub and then blot with a white towel. Never use a colored towel or fabric to rub stains out of fabric or rugs. Good luck.
The only thing I can help you with is the smell. If the pet pee got into the stuff under the carpet, carpet cleaning won't get it out. You have to replace it.
Don't bleach your berber! Bleach smells worse than urine, all you need to do, and it's simple, is get some 20 MULE TEAM BORAX and follow the directions on the box. there you go, and it's easy cleanup, and you don't have to worry about the smell of the Urine or the Bleach!
any good pet stain remover will work for the stain..Resolve has a good one..But for the smell.. a mixture of 2 parts water to 1 part white vinegar works to neutralize the odor.. 8 hours is an awful long time for a rug to have to dry...I would think they would have better equipment that would suck up the moisture better than that, if they are a professional company... I would be afraid the rug would sour by then. Good Luck. !
