I just put bleach on my cargo pants, and its changing colors. How can i make it stop!!?

Question:I acidentally put clorox bleach on my cargo pants and I don't know how to stop it from changing colors, PLEASE HELP!

Answers:
The only thing you can do now is to dye the pants back to their original color. Chlorine bleach is an oxidizer and removes color from unstable sources, such as the color of dye in clothing. Chlorine will also adversly affect the tensile strength of fabric, especially cotton. To stop the degradation, rinse your pants in cold water. Otherwise, your pants are going to have a hole in them very soon. If you spilled the bleach directly on your pants there is little hope. But, if you put chlorine bleach into the washer and it mixed with water your pants may survive.
