use lees pre cooked meals aka TV dinners mac an cheese boxed pizza make your own from scratch never throw out leftover veggies freeze then until u have enough an make soup or Shepard's pie even a pot pie stay away from all paper products ie cups plates napkins etc. I stop getting a news paper i can reed it on line or use it for compost composting is easy if it came from the ground put it back hey even aluminum foil is recyclable i put mine in with the beer an soda cans
do you cook a lot..whatever the garbage...if you keep emptying it every other day rather than wait for it to pile up before pickup day it should help.
don't use napkins or paper towels. instead use washable towels. Buy products that don't have a lot of pacakaging. Instead of bottled or canned drinks, try drinking more water in a washable glass. Avoid individually wrapped foods and drinks. Buying things in bulk or the larger version of things can help.
Also, you can start a compose for your unused food scraps.
buy bottles and cans that can be recycled..
take leftover food and put it in bags and feed it to the birds or something
dont use paper plates, plastic cups/silverware
recycle newspapers, pizza boxes, soda cases.. etc..
Install a garbage disposal in your sink and get a dog. Wash dishes, no paper plates.
I separate non food paper from the normal garbage along with plastic bottles and glass jars and bottles. I put as much organic waste as i can in the green container for vegetable waste, any left over pasta or rice and even over ripe fruit i put out in certain areas of my garden for the birds, and i compact the regular garbage as much as i can (foam meat trays for example) so that my garbage bag doesn't fill up so fast. I usually only have one 30 liter garbage bag a week to take out. Here in the Netherlands there are underground recycling bins all over the cities. There are two within a quarter mile of my house. You just have to take your separated things to the bins...and put the proper things in the proper bins. No having to stock up on alot of stuff waiting to take it to a center or for someone to have a drive of some kind.
