How do i remove spilled wax from a rug?
Question:
Answers:
place paper towels over the area, use a warm iron to lift the wax to the towels.
Freeze it with ice cubes and then scrap it off with a butter knife.
use an old cloth and iron, the cloth soaks up the wax as it melts. you may have to go over it many time before its gone
First, get it really cold! Use an ice-pack, etc. then scrape off as much as possible. If you can't get it all, use an iron ~on low~ and put layers of paper towels over it, and move the iron over it so the paper towel absorbs it. Change to new towels as needed, and don't let the iron touch the carpeting,it could melt it. Then fluff up the carpet fibers with a fork.
Good Luck!!
you can also use a hair dryer to melt the wax & blot with papertowles. If you have synthetic carpet the iron even if it is on low heat can melt the carpet.
kandl722 just gave you the right way to get the wax up
Ice or iron...that's about the only way.
If it's a small area rug you could have it dry cleaned...although, unless you have an exceptionally good one in your area, I'd avoid that option.
