ANYONE AN APPLIANCE GENIUS? What could be wrong with my washer?
Question:I put a load in as usual, and it stopped before emptying. and there it sits. On any cycle setting, the empty/spin portion will not work at all. It will aggitate and fill with water, that's it. Any suggestions to what the problem is? I cannot afford a new washing machine, and repairs will be costly, I'm sure. Any advise will be appreciated.

It depends on the make and model of the machine! could be anything from a bad lid switch to a bad timer or a broken wire or a bad transmission!
You probably have a broken belt. It's not hard to fix, and the part isn't that much, but you will need a repairman if you're not handy. Goodbye, $150, at least.
it could be several different things , faulty timer which would need to be tested. faulty timer, need to be tested, if you have drive belt model, it could be faulty drive belt, adjust or replace. a repair should be considered if appliance is not more than ten years old. if more than ten yrs donate it to local thrift store or dump in your area.
