I don't let her organise wardrobes or food, that is something I do myself. I also don't have things lying around - I leave everything as clean and tidy as possible (but that is just who I am).
I pay my maid $100 (per day). She comes 3 days a week at 9am and usually leaves around 4. (She has 30' lunch allowance at 12:00).

Eh don't haf 1 but if i did i would let them clean EVERYTHING and pay em around 20-50 bucks a day
I am the type of person that if I had a maid, I would have to clean up first so she (or he) didn't think that I was a total slob. My neighbor has one. . .she states that it is too hard to clean up herself because she has three kids, no job and a husband who is home the majority of the day. She pays about 100 every two weeks-I think the maid may be part of their church so she give them a deal. Life is hard!

my friend has a maid n shes like a 2nd mom to them...anyway the house owner or the person that wants the cleaning to b done gives specific things the maid needs to do like doing the laudary, dusting the house, vacuming n stuff like that...although the maid could be asked to prepare dinner n wash the dishes...

well that would be a good start yes.I do that and I am a Mother and I work full time.I wish I had a maid to do my Chores for me.
I pay $65 per visit, and she stays about 4 hours. So, $15 is close.
She mops kitchen floor, cleans countertops and appliances (including inside the microwave), mops foyer, mops 3 bathrooms and cleans toilet/sinks/tubs. Changes sheets on 2 beds. Vacuums the rest of the house, dusts furniture, blinds, and window sills, and usually does 2 loads of laundry.
I pick up, though, so that she can clean. I don't have a bunch of junk laying everywhere.
