How do I remove filmy streaks from my windows?

Question:I've already tried ammonia, vinegar, and degreaser, all with plenty of elbow grease. Nothing touches them. You can see where a paper had been taped to the glass. It's clean where the tape and paper were and filmy around it. I have no idea what has caused the film. Any ideas of what might take it off?

Answers:
first use windex, not generic clean good with paper towel. then spray again and wipe it off good with a newspaper.

Supposedly newspaper is supposed to work..I think you have to wet it..
I can suggest this, With equal parts of Paraffin & Methylated Spirit , this will clean the marks. Then clean them with warm water & vinegar, using news paper , wear gloves whilst doing both thing“s. then buff with a cotton cloth , they will be streak free this way.
There is a product called Awsome you can find it a Dollar Tree, Family Dollar or Wal-Mart. On the back of the bottel it has mixing instructions for windows. First I would spray the window with it at full strength then wash it with the dilluted mixture, and a squeegie. This stuff is great it cleans everything, even ovens but it is still mild. It should work well. :)
My grandmother used to use warm soapy water, applied with a sponge and wipe off with newspaper, her windows were gleaming after.
Have you tried a little nail polish remover, or white spirit around the area where the tape was ? it might lift it.
Hope this helps
