How do you dissolve wood glue off of clothes?
Question:I spilt wood glue on a pair of black nylon pants, and I managed to get most of it off while it was wet, but several drops have dried on, and I'm not too sure about using metho or turpentine because I'm worried it'll damage the pants. Does anyone know a way to get the glue off without wrecking the fabric?
Answers:
If it is just plain white wood glue (AKA Elmer's Glue) use water. This stuff is water soluble. It will take a while but it will come off. Believe it or not, you're in good shape, the black will take a permanent marker like a Sharpie if the glue does leave a stain. I work with wood almost daily so I have had to remove a lot of glue. It does seem to leave a mild stain in cotton based material. I can't remember ever getting it on nylon.
Cheers and good luck.
